An Alternative to the “hard of hearing” Advisor

Isn't it frustrating when an advisor or other professional just doesn’t hear what you’re saying?  We think so too.  Getting to know you, understanding you, and really hearing what you’re saying is a high priority for us.  True personalized advice can’t happen without it.

Technical Expertise

Do you know what it takes to be called a financial advisor or a financial planner?  Not a whole lot.  You can be sure though, that Erin has the technical expertise to back up the title.  To become a Certified Financial Planner™ she took extensive coursework and passed a comprehensive ten hour exam.  Even after saying “never again” to an exam like that, she went on to pass the 3 part Enrolled Agent exam with the Internal Revenue Service.  Erin also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant designation and is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.  Those credentials, plus her membership in NAPFA, require at least 60 continuing education credits biannually.  Frankly, with the financial world changing so rapidly, she couldn’t imagine doing less.

Making Financial Jargon Understandable

Do you know what it means to trade leveraged multiple synthetic collateral debt obligations?  Not to worry; with Baehr Family Financial you won’t hear that kind of techno-speak without a translation.  As a local author for the Eastern Pocono Community News, Pocono Parent magazine, and a guest contributor to the Pocono Business Journal, Erin is known for her ability to translate financial jargon and issues into something that non-financial people can understand.  It is your money after all, and Erin wants to make sure you understand what you have and why.  She is also passionate about educating people about personal finance, and welcomes the opportunity to teach small groups, from college students to church groups.

“Live with Grace and Gratitude”

The central theme in Erin's practice is to focus on what we have and be grateful for, rather than being stressed or disappointed by what we don’t have. It's with this same attitude that Erin strives to live her own life.
